In a startling incident that underscores the unpredictability of life, a 55-year-old man experienced a heart attack on Monday afternoon while he was walking through the bustling streets of Neapoli, Thessaloniki. The man, who was accompanied by a friend, had been on his way to a local pharmacy to pick up medication for his ailing mother when tragedy struck. Without any prior warning, he suddenly collapsed, leaving witnesses in a state of alarm and concern. Fortunately, emergency medical responders from EKAB were quick to arrive at the scene, launching into life-saving actions almost immediately after their arrival.
According to statements from the EKAB-2 Thessaloniki Employees’ Union, paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and utilized advanced life support techniques as per established international cardiac arrest protocols. They intubated the patient on-site to assist with breathing before transporting him to Papanikolaou General Hospital for further medical care.
