After years of anticipation and several setbacks, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art has finally set its grand opening for September 22, 2026! This cultural beacon, conceived by the visionary George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, and his wife Mellody Hobson, promises to be a treasure trove celebrating the art of storytelling through illustration. The journey to this opening has been a long one. Originally slated for San Francisco and Chicago, the project faced challenges before settling on Los Angeles in 2017. Construction began in 2018, with an initial opening target of 2021. However, the pandemic and construction hurdles pushed the date to 2023, then 2025, and finally to 2026.
