A top MLB public-relations figure has taken home one of the sport’s most prestigious honors. Matt Chisholm of the San Francisco Giants was announced as the recipient of the Robert O. Fishel Award for excellence in public relations.
Major League Baseball revealed the news at the winter meetings, highlighting Chisholm’s long track record in the field. The Fishel Award, named after a longtime executive who held influential roles with the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Browns, New York Yankees, and the American League office, is determined by a vote among past Fishel winners and MLB officials.
Chisholm brings 21 years of MLB experience to the accolade, including 18 years with the Giants. His journey began with the Giants as an intern in 2004, followed by a stint in the Colorado Rockies’ media-relations department from 2005 to 2008, before returning to San Francisco. Since 2020, he has served as the Giants’ vice president of media relations.
